We transmit and receive cues from different types of eye contact, tone of voice, physical posture, intensity of response, gestures, facial expressions and the timing of these. The content of what we say is important but the process of relating is also bound up in all the non-verbal aspects of communication. ![]() Under the surface we are in a constant stream of mutual mirroring and emotional attunement. On the surface the main form of communication is verbal. Mind and body are present and engaged in the process. The shared space allows for a holistic experience.
